I'm Stephan Savarese, a French deep-tech entrepreneur, engineer and climate advocate. After 30+ years spanning aerospace simulation at SNECMA/Safran, multiphysics computing at COMSOL, and startup advisory, I co-founded TechnoCarbon Technologies to develop CarbonRock™ — a patented stone-carbon fiber composite that cuts on GHG emissions and can turn infrastructures and cities into carbon sinks (using CDR - Carbon Dioxide Removal), while outperforming conventional materials. My journey took me from aircraft engine aerodynamics to building a material that could reshape construction, energy and maritime industries to fight climate change and biodiversity extinction.

How I Switched

• What I can share as experiences/offer insights on: transitioning from a 20-year technical career (innovation, engineering, HPC, CFD, multiphysics simulation) into deep-tech / sustainability entrepreneurship. Moving from large corporate R&D (SNECMA, Bertrandt, COMSOL) to founding your own IP-driven startup. Pivoting scientific expertise into climate action and sustainable materials innovation. Non-profit experience as NGO co-founder and engaging the UN climate process (UNFCCC, COP21–31) as an NGO leader while running a company.

How I Solved

• What I can share as experiences/offer insights on: filing and protecting international patents on a disruptive manufacturing process. Raising funds to create an industrial startup. Winning 30+ awards and labels (EIC Seal of Excellence, MassChallenge, JEC Startup Booster) to build credibility with minimal marketing budget. Raising visibility through scientific publications, conference lectures and media while bootstrapping R&D

How I Landed

• What I can share as experiences/offer insights on: Securing recognition from innovation ecosystems, corporates (AD Ports, Airbus, TotalEnergies) and institutions (Bpifrance, Région Sud, Aix-Marseille-Provence metropole, Horizon Europe, CSTB, CEREMA, ADEME) as validation milestones. Building a network across maritime, construction, energy and aerospace sectors for a sustanable material innovation and industry platform. Structuring success-based commercial and investor sourcing agreements. Leveraging international experience (Switzerland, UAE, UK, USA, Canada, EU) to open doors in global deep-tech and climate finance ecosystems.
